Poquoy Brook in Lakeville...3 hour round

Pace of play is a common excuse golfers (including myself) use as to why we didn't play so well. Somehow I managed a 94 at Poquoy in 2:48 with ADT Jim. Junk off the tee for most of the round combined with four 3-putts on the back made me feel like Peter Hanson at the Open.

Will have to return to Pequoy again (along with Acushnet River and Swansea) to make my determination as to my go-to course.

Next new course I want to play: http://www.newportnational.com/

Liberty Hotel Lobby Blowing Up at Midnight

Not the type of place I'd go to every weekend, but definitely worth checking out often - hands down one of the most interesting places I've been. This place would be a top ten spot in NYC or London. Never would have guessed renovating a jail and adding three bars and restaurant would produce anything like this: http://libertyhotel.com/dining.html from this http://libertyhotel.com/history.html

Goodbye Ethan Stowell, Hello Todd English

Bad Golf Genes

36 holes today at Swansea CC and then Acushnet River. Every 9 holes I got progressively worse. Knew it was going to be a good day when I shot a 43 with 21 putts on the front 9 at Swansea

Serafini's Detour in Erie

Aside from some Jamba post tour this morning, we hadn't really eaten much decent food (Taste of Chicago is weak compared to Taste of Seattle). So I looked for a good stopping point before Syracuse and found Erie. Google Maps search on my phone was pushing the east food usual suspects pretty hard but I found Serafini's. Based on the good reviews we pulled off 90. Overall, the place was good, basically your classic small town family Italian. 250 miles to syracuse

Have seen more of this in Indiana and Ohio than our whole trip combined

And we have a pace car!

Fell Asleep Outside of Chicago and Woke Up in Ohio

Outside of Toledo to be exact. Word from pops is that there's cops everywhere and nothing to really see... Makes me glad I slept through Indiana. What's with the pic? Well progress is measured alot of ways: Miles - 2441 since Seattle, Cabela's seen from 90 - 7, number of times yelling occurred for no reason in the Honda - 23 And BUGS KILLED-8281

Left Chicago about 3.5 hours ago

Churrascaria in Chicago

Don't normally hit chains, but Fogo works

2200 miles later. Chicago!

Somehow got this view of grant park from room. Sick

Spam Museum and State Trooper

Quick stop in Austin for food and what do you know? Spam HQ. This is after pops was pulled over doing 86. Love Minnesota

The Road Just Trails into the Horizon

Here in South Dakota. We're about 80 miles from Sioux Falls. Planning on lunch in Austin, MN (no reason, we'll just need gas then) and then we head to Chicago for dinner

Sun sets on Day 2 as we close in on Chamberlain, SD

Classic

Rushmore - up on the tram

A little over 4 hours from Billings to Sturgis

Lone American Roadhouse is classic

Checked on Lawson's half sister

Where are we?

Just woke up and asked that very question. Apparently we are closing in on Billings and my dad is trying to make record time. Yesterday we pressed to Butte after Missoula was short on hotel rooms. Got in around 3:30 am mst. Slept for 3 hours at the Finlen and hit the road with pops (aka Speed Racer).

Already?

And So It Begins

After the Hopkins boat tour with 19 K exactly on the odometer, we began our journey at 4:30 pacific time

Lake Union Speed Lane

For the record, last time Hopkins and I was going this fast on a boat, we sank it... Sort of

He was starving to feel sea sick

He's not that short and I'm not that tall

Seaplane Landing

Somehow there was a boat detour

3090 Miles To Go...

Here's the route in case you're interested:

Pretty much four days of leisurely driving with 24 hours in Chicago showing my dad the sights. Question is - how much gas will we need and what will it cost. Best guess - 89 gallons, $375. We'll see how wrong I am when this is over.

After a little lunch wine dad sits on patrick's lap
